Instructions

    • 1

Begin by opening your Microsoft Word program. Open the Microsoft Office Online Menu by going to Help in the top toolbar and then to Microsoft Office Online.

    • 2

Go online to get a template that matches the style of business card blanks you purchased. Find a template that matches your business card stock.

    • 3

In the “Search For” box, type in “Business Cards” and type in the Avery card number located on the front right hand side of your business card stock. Even if you are not using Avery brand cards, most competitors list the Avery equivalent card number for you to help you find a workable template. A good template to use is Avery business cards 27871.

    • 4

If you can’t find a template that matches your card blanks, go to Avery.com and click on the Templates page. Type in the style number you’ll find listed on the front of your card stock and select a template that suits your needs.

    • 5

Decide on a card style. Vertical business cards are currently very popular and kind of trendy and would be perfect for something like a psychic business card.

    • 6

Download a template. If you are downloading from Avery, the template is free. You just need to provide some basic information before doing so. You’ll need to put in your name and email address to download the form. Open your new template in Word.

    • 7

Click in one of the cards and type in your information. For a psychic business card, you’ll want to list your name first, and then what kind of services you offer. Do you do tarot card readings or palm reading? Be specific so people who pick up your card know what to expect from you. Type in all the information you need and address the set up and font sizes later. Be sure to include contact information as well as the disclaimer “for entertainment purposes only.” This can always be printed on the back of the card if there is no room on the front.

    • 8

Choose a font, color and font size that allows you to include all your information but maintains a readable size for recipients. Use the font short cuts on your Word toolbar to make your changes quickly and easily.

    • 9

Choose a picture. For a psychic business card, you want to create an otherworldly type of look to your card. You can use a clip art picture of an angel, clouds, Celtic symbols or other psychic-related artwork. You can even use a photograph and then usethe draw features in the software to wash it out to create a cloudy backdrop for the entire card. The possibilities for design are endless.

    • 10

Once you've selected an image, go to "Insert" and then "Format Picture." Lighten the image by changing the brightness of the clip art or photo, if desired. Then, select “Behind” from the Layout menu.

    • 11

Finish adjusting the text and image as needed until it all fits nicely in the template.

    • 12

Copy and paste the finished business card to the other squares. Highlight the completed card and right clicking on “Copy.” Then right click and select “Paste.” Drag the new card into a space delineated by the template. Simply place the cursor in the next empty box and click on “Paste” again to easily fill the page.

    • 13

Put your business card blanks in the printer and print them out. Carefully separate the cards on the perforated edges and start handing them out to potential clients.

Tips & Warnings

  • Print a page out on regular printer paper to proofread. Hold your printed cards behind some business card stock to make sure the cards are appropriately placed.
