How to Save Documents as a Web Page in Microsoft Word 2003

      Open the document that you wish to save as a webpage. Click on “File” and then "Open," and browse to the desired document. Click “Open” to open that file.

      Access the save menu. Scroll to “File” and then click on “Save As a Webpage.”

      Select the save options. Under this menu you can set several save options. Click on the “Change Title” button to change the title of the webpage; a text field will open where you can enter the new name of the webpage, click “Okay” to change the title. Under the “File Name” field you can enter the desired file name by typing it in.

      Select the “Save As” type. Under the “Save As Type” field you can use the dropdown arrows to select how you wish to save this file. Choose from Single File Webpage (creates a single and easily uploaded webpage file), Webpage (creates a multiple file webpage) or Web Page Filtered (creates a condensed file webpage.)

      Save the document as a webpage. Click “Okay” to save the file.

Tips & Warnings

  • This feature is very useful in converting a created document into a website using a variety of different web encoding options.

  • Make sure that you do not overwrite the master document.
