Step 1
Decide where you want to stay in Hershey. There are many options for those of all backgrounds and budget types. Two of the most popular places to stay are The Hershey Hotel and The Hershey Lodge, with fine dining, luxurious rooms, gorgeous gardens and even a chocolate spa where you can relax and get pampered. On the other end of the price spectrum, there are the Hershey Campgrounds with cabins, tent space and areas for RV hookups, as well as swimming pools, games and a few stores. The town also has many hotel and motel options of all price ranges, as do many of the outlying towns (see Resources below).
-
Step 2
Visit Hershey attractions. Hershey Park is open all summer long with great roller coasters, a swimming area, shows, games and a free entrance to ZooAmerica (a zoo featuring North American animals). Chocolate World is right next door, featuring a "tour" of the factory, a 3-D show, a tour via trolley of the town, a handful of restaurants featuring the Hershey delights and a gift shop that would make even the biggest chocolate lovers dizzy with delight (see Resources below).
-
Step 3
See a show or a movie. Hershey is home to an amazing theater where you can catch a show or simply ooh and aah over the beauty of the building. The Hershey Gardens boast of over 23 acres of natural beauty and wonder where you can relax and breathe deeply for a bit. There is also an antique auto museum and a Milton Hershey museum (showing the life and times of Milton Hershey) for those wanting a bit of mental stimulation (see Resources below).
-
Step 4
Go shopping. The Outlets at Hershey, located near the park, have dozens of outlet stores where a good bargain is sure to be found. Also, there is an antique barn on Cocoa Avenue, just a few minutes away, with myriad treasures for those looking for something a little more unique.

Step 5
No vacation would be complete without food and Hershey has plenty of it. You'll see a handful of the restaurants you're familiar with, such as McDonalds, KFC, or Red Robin. But even greater are the restaurants like the Hershey Pantry, the Hershey Grill, or Sorrentos and many, many more for those looking for a one-of-a-kind taste and style.

Step 6
Take a trip. There are many day-trip options from Hershey to places like Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Dutch Country, Gettysburg or even Baltimore. It's also within a few hours' drive from Washington, D.C. and New York City.
