How to Enjoy Your Time in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
Rancho Santa Margarita is a small but affluent California city located in southern Orange county. While the city appears small and may not seem to offer much in terms of excitement, it did serve as one of the backgrounds for the hit MTV show "The Real Housewives of Orange County." Seeing how such a small community was able to be part of a major TV show, Rancho Santa Margarita does offer some sights and attractions for everyone.

Visit Lake Rancho Santa Margarita. At this man-made lake you can go paddle boating, fishing or just lounge around the outside of the water and tan in the sun. If you do decide to go fishing, this lake is particularly known for its bass (see Resources below).

Visit Tijeras Creek Golf Club. Open to the public, this golf club offers over 6,000 acres of gorgeous scenic views and a variety of golf courses for golfers of all talent levels (see Resources below).

Visit O'Neil Regional Park. This park is reminiscent of larger national parks, just on a smaller scale. There are several hiking trails, picnic areas, and a small pond with paddle boats.

Visit the Rancho Santa Margarita Town Center to experience a variety of restaurants and a large movie theater complex. This is the perfect place to go if you want to go out and have some fun during the night.

Tips & Warnings
If you go to Lake Rancho Santa Margarita, it may be best to bring someone that is a member, as some attractions may be closed to you otherwise. Additionally, if you intend on renting out any boat or go fishing, be sure to bring money and your driver's license.
If you decide to go hiking, be sure to either bring a cell phone or go with a friend. Additionally, never go hiking without the appropriate attire such as hiking boots.
