How to Watch TV on a Notebook

• TV tuner
• TV viewing software
• TV signal

Instructions

1. Purchase a TV tuner for the laptop. The best choice is a USB tuner. A USB tuner connects easily to the USB port of the laptop. Get a USB 2.0 if your laptop will handle it since this device works well.

2. Install TV viewing software if your laptop does not have any. One type of software that provides TV viewing capability is Windows Media Center. Laptops with Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate should already have Windows Media Center.

3. Connect the TV signal to the laptop. If the TV signal is received via a cable, then connect the cable directly to the laptop rather than the TV. If the TV signal is coming from a TV signal box, then connect the TV signal box directly to the laptop rather than the TV.

4. Watch TV from your laptop and enjoy the flexibility it gives you as far as location.
