Things You'll Need:
- Scarf
- Laundry Basket
- Bubbles
-
Step 1
Play games that involve movement. Since toddlers have an abundance of energy, let them expend it while interacting with you. Crawl after them as they toddle away or pick them up and swing them around in a circle.
-
Step 2
Take advantage of the fact that toddlers love surprises. Cover your face with a sheer scarf and let the toddler pull it from your face while you say “surprise” or “peek-a-boo.” Then let the child wear the scarf and surprise you.
-
Step 3
Create a theme park in your living room. Place your toddler in a laundry basket and push her around the room as if she were on a ride. Try alternating speeds and making funny sounds.
-
Step 4
Toddlers love bubbles. Blow bubbles into the air and see who can pop the most.
-
Step 5
Try playing hide-the-object. Pick a favorite stuffed animal or doll and “hide it” somewhere in plain sight such as on a shelf or slightly poking out from underneathe the bed. Encourage the toddler to go and find it. Then give him big hugs.
