How to Remove TV Shows From an iPod

Television is becoming easier and easier to fit into our daily lives. Watching TV shows on an iPod is just one way to get your small-box fix while on the go. However, if you’d rather have the space for movies and music (or you’ve just watched all the shows currently on your iPod), here’s how to remove the TV shows from your iPod.

  • IPod USB connector cable
  • Computer
  • ITunes

Instructions

      Connect the iPod to the computer using the iPod USB connector cable.

      Open iTunes if the program does not launch automatically.

      Select the iPod under “Devices” in the iTunes menu.

      Click the “TV Shows” tab in the main iTunes window.

      Deselect the box next to “Sync [drop down option] episodes of.”

      Click “Don’t Sync TV Shows” in the pop up window that appears.

      Click “Apply” in the bottom right corner of iTunes.

      Eject the iPod from iTunes by clicking the "Eject" icon in the left menu where the iPod appears.

      Disconnect the iPod from the computer when it is ready. The TV shows should not longer be on your iPod.

Tips & Warnings

  • To only remove specific episodes, follow steps 1 through 4, then deselect them in the “Selected TV Shows” menu. To only remove watched episodes (and continually sync new, unwatched episodes), change the sync settings to “all unwatched episodes” in the drop-down menu.

  • Be sure your iPod has finished syncing before “ejecting” it from iTunes and disconnecting it from the computer.
