Did you know that according to a recent study, almost 8 out of 10 women wear the wrong size bra? Many of us tend to think if it stays on, fits okay and doesn't move, it's the right size. The following steps will show you how to measure for the right size bra so you can get back to a comfortable lifestyle. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove the clothing on the upper half of your body. If you like, you can wear a bra that is comfortable to you, contains no padding and has no extra features; push-up, minimizer.

2
Measure for your band size. Using the tape measure, measure under your arms, keeping the tape high on your back and across the topmost part of your chest. If the result number is odd, you want to add an inch to determine the band size. If the result number is even, it is your band size. Now, write this number on a piece of paper alongside 'band' to keep track.

Measure for your cup size. Using the tape measure, measure around the fullest part of your chest or bust, keeping the tape measure loose. Now, using that number, subtract the band measurement you just determined. Each inch defines a cup size. For instance, say your bust measurement is 38" and your band measurement is 36". That is a two inch difference which would make your cup size a B.

Tips & Warnings
When trying on a bra, to make sure it fits correctly, try to slip two fingers beneath the band in the back and one finger under the band in the front. If you are unable to do this, try a bigger size or loosen your band if possible.
Be aware of different bra styles. Certain styles can fit differently so you might need a different size, depending on the style.
Sizes vary among brands so it's always best to try on before buying if possible.
Re-measure again for your bra size a few months down the road. This will help in the event of lost or gained weight.

My question is if your breast measurement is smaller than your underbust measurement....how do you properly measure for negative? -

This is slightly better than the usual method of taking the underbust measurement and adding 4 or 5 inches, but it still gives me the wrong size. It tells me I should be in a 32C, but I actually wear a 30E! The band of the bra does not go around the top of your chest, so why measure there?!? Just take your underbust measurement (where the bra band goes!) and round it to the nearest even number. -
