Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wide ribbon
  • Holiday lights
  • Candy canes
  • Hot glue
  • Narrow ribbon
  • 1-inch wide satin ribbon
  • Paper clip or clothes pin
  • Red or white thread
  • Needle
  • Beads
  • Ornaments
  • Popcorn
  • Red plastic wrap
  1. Step 1

Wrap the tree. Starting from the bottom and working your way up to the treetop, wrap wide red or white ribbon around the tree. Twist the ribbon occasionally. Tuck the ribbon into the branches. Decorate the tree with white twinkling lights.

  2. Step 2

Make peppermint hearts. Take two candy canes and face the hooks of the candy canes toward each other. Place a dot of hot glue on the end of each hook and press the candy canes together. Tie a narrow red or white ribbon into a loop around the heart and hang it on the tree.

  3. Step 3

Make ribbon candy decorations. Cut 10 inches of the 1-inch ribbon and fold it with an accordion fold. Hold the folded ribbon together with a paper clip or clothes pin. Thread a needle with red or white thread and insert it through the middle of the folded ribbon. Remove the paper clip or clothes pin. Secure a bead at the top and the bottom of the accordion fold. Make a loop knot with the thread, and use the loop to hang your creation from the tree.

  4. Step 4

Purchase red and white glass ornaments and use them to fill in gaps on the tree.

  5. Step 5

Pop popcorn to make popcorn balls. Fill sandwich bags with the popcorn. Make the bags into spheres and wrap them with red plastic wrap. Tie narrow red or white ribbon around the bags, and make a loop to hang them. Hang popcorn balls from the tree. Invite holiday guests to take the bags of popcorn as a treat.
