Things You'll Need:
- AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0
-
Step 1
Right-click on the AVG icon in your taskbar or on your desktop. Click on the top menu choice ("Open AVG User Interface" in the taskbar icon menu, or "Open" in the desktop icon menu). This will bring up the AVG program controls.
-
Step 2
Click on "Tools" in the menu bar that goes across the very top of the page. Select "Advanced Settings" from the drop-down menu.
-
Step 3
Select "Schedules" from the list on the left. Then select "Scheduled scan" which will appear immediately below "Schedules."
-
Step 4
You will now have a page, on the right, where you can set the scan schedule. If you want the scan to run once a week, choose the middle option and select a day. If you want to run the scan more often, select the first or third options, where you can set hour intervals (for example, 24 if you wish to run it once a day) or choose to have the scan run every time you turn on the computer.
-
Step 5
Click "Ok" and you will be done.
