Step 1
Using the left hand, hold the ukulele neck near the string spacer at the top of the ukulele. Rest the ukulele neck between the left thumb and index finger. Hold the left thumb behind the ukulele neck directly behind the first bar. When holding the body of the ukulele, reach over the front center of the ukulele body with the right arm and hold underneath with the right hand.

Step 2
Move the left index finger to the first bar, located between the string spacer and the first fret. Place the left index finger on the "E" string located on the first bar.

Step 3
With the tip of the left middle finger, hold down "G" and "C" strings, located on the second bar between the first and second fret. Try to keep the left middle finger on the second bar without touching the frets or unassigned strings.

Step 4
Use the left middle finger, hold down the "A", or bottom string, located on the third bar between the second and third frets.

Step 5
F6Press the left fingertips firmly on all assigned strings. Keep the left thumb tight against the back of the ukulele neck behind the first bar. Gently strum over all strings with the right hand near the center of the ukulele body to hear the F6 chord.
