How to Acquire the Cleric Branwen in "Baldur's Gate"
The PC role-playing game Baldur's Gate has a very large cast of characters who can potentially join your group of adventurers, many of whom are found in the most unlikely places. The cleric Branwen will join the party if you discover that she has been turned to stone and find a way to reverse the spell and return her to her natural form.

Travel south down the Sword Coast, from the library of Candlekeep to the town called Nashkel.

Find the temple of Helm at the eastern end of Nashkel and purchase a "Stone to Flesh" scroll from the priest there.

Leave Nashkel through the southern exit to go to the nearby carnival.

Speak to the man named Zeke at the carnival, who will tell the party that the nearby statue of a woman is actually a person who was turned to stone by a wizard long ago.

Use the "Stone to Flesh" scroll you purchased in Nashkel on the statue. The statue will turn into Branwen, who will then ask to join the party. Accept her offer to gain her as a playable character.

Tips & Warnings
Branwen is a good addition to a low-level party because of her cleric abilities, which allow her to cast healing spells.
Because she was turned into stone, Branwen does not start out with any equipment at all. Be sure to return to Nashkel and buy her a weapon and a suit of armor.
