How to Acquire the Bard Eldoth in "Baldur's Gate"
A greedy and arrogant man who takes what he wants and feels no compunctions about theft or murder, the bard Eldoth can create quite a stir if you allow him to join your party of adventurers in the PC role-playing game Baldur's Gate. He can be found wandering around the Cloakwood forest on his way to the massive city of Baldur's Gate.

Depart from the Candlekeep Library at the beginning of the game and move north up the Sword Coast until the party reaches the Friendly Arm Inn.

Go to the western edge of the Friendly Arm Inn and return to the world map, which will bring up a new area to the west called the Cloakwood.

Travel through the next two sections marked as "Cloakwood" on the world map until reaching the forest on the westernmost edge of the map.

Walk to the west until reaching Eldoth. You will be standing near the bank of a river.

Speak with Eldoth and ask him to join the party, and he will then become a playable character.

Tips & Warnings
Eldoth has a special ability that allows him to create a small number of poison tipped arrows every day.
If you take Eldoth into the city of Baldur's Gate, he will want the party to help him kidnap his girlfriend from her father's home. If Eldoth is not in the party when you enter her house, she will think the group are burglars and will fight them to the death.
As an evil character, there are several other party members that Eldoth will frequently insult or bicker with. He will become especially acidic towards Garrick, who share's Eldoth's bard profession but is a good character.
