How to Use an Inverted Drill Press
Construction workers who find themselves drilling overhead, often complain of sore muscles and achy joints. Over the years with new advances in technology, an inverted drill press was invented that makes virtually all overhead drilling a thing of the past. The inverted drill press is an amazing tool. 1
Support the inverted drill press by placing the stand on the ground. The ground support allows greater drilling force than if it were held in the hands.
-
2
Mount the drill chuck to the stand. The drill chuck is on a swivel arm. The goal is to bend the machine arm, not the human arm. The stand has two heights to choose from.
-
-
3
Elevate the inverted drill chuck relative to the ground, facing up. Insert the proper drill bit into the chuck.
-
4
Push the drill chuck into the work piece overhead using a lever. Crank the lever to raise the chuck to the desired height.
-
5
Operate the inverted drill press from the ground using instruments on a control panel that allows you to set and monitor the speed of the drill and its depth.

Tips & Warnings
Decrease worker stress and fatigue by using an inverted drill press. This innovative piece of equipment lessens the strain on nerves, muscles and tendons, and reduces carpal tunnel syndrome injuries.
As with any large piece of equipment, take precautions when operating an inverted drill press. Even with reduced risk of bodily injury, you still need to practice safety.
