The beating heart of Liberty City can be found inside the Statue of Happiness on Happiness Island. The beating heart is one of the most thrilling hidden Easter eggs you will find in GTA IV.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  1. Step 1

Get a helicopter. You can find one at the Francis International Airport, which is located on the northeastern coast of Dukes.

  2. Step 2

Fly to the top of the Statue of Happiness. The statue is located on Happiness Island, the island found on the southwestern tip of Algonquin.

  3. Step 3

Jump out of the helicopter. Once you fly to the top of the statue, maneuver the helicopter so that you can safely jump out onto the top platform. Try not to land on the ledge, as you will likely fall to your death.

  4. Step 4

Walk through the correct door. The door has a sign on it that reads: “No hidden content through here.” The door does not open like a conventional door. Instead, it appears as a wall, but you can walk through it.

  5. Step 5

Climb the ladder to the very top. Once you have entered the room, walk to the ladder. Hold down the "A" button while climbing to quickly scale this very tall ladder. If you have trouble getting on the ladder, you may be climbing up the wrong side. Try the other side. Once you reach the top, you will see the chained, beating heart.

  6. Step 6

Climb back down the ladder by pressing “Y” and holding down the “A” button to swiftly descend. You can exit via the same door you entered. Unless you can put together an elaborate plot to safely descend the Statue of Happiness, the only way down is to jump.

Tips & Warnings
  • These steps are easier to complete on multiplayer in “Free Mode” with the assistance of a friend who can maneuver the helicopter to the top of the statue and close to the door you have to enter after jumping out.
  • In single player mode, a pigeon is also located here.
