2
Follow a formula to get the conversion you want. If you want to convert a temperature in Fahrenheit to Celsius, you can do so by subtracting 32 from the original, multiplying that by 5, and then dividing that by 9. That means that 60 degrees Fahrenheit translates to approximately 16 degrees Celsius.

Use a tool that makes the conversion automatically. Many scales, for example, feature a display capable of representing the measure in different Metric units. The display, for example, will start in grams. After pressing the button, the scale’s display will cycle between all the different Metric units of measure, allowing you to write down the one you want.

4
Slide down the decimals to convert measurements within the Metric System. This is one of the great things about the Metric System. Everything is based on multiples of 10, so the conversion can be easy enough to do in your head. Remember, a meter has 100 centimeters, so 32 centimeters is .32 meters.
