How to Make a Personalized Binder

Personalized binders make your locker easier to organize and help you grab the right notebook in a hurry.

If you are having trouble getting excited about going back to school, making a personalized binder will cheer you up. Pictures of you and your friends having fun at school activities last year will perk you up and get you ready for more excitement, even if you just cannot get truly thrilled at the prospect of homework. This binder project is a great way to kick off the year by doing it with friends or a good way to bond with a parent while talking about the upcoming school year.

Things You'll Need

• Construction paper
• Scissors
• Stickers
• Glue
• Pictures
• Gel pens
• Binder with clear plastic sleeves

Instructions

1. 

   Cut pictures of you and your friends into interesting shapes. You might want to try hearts, flowers, circles or just funny shapes.

2. Make construction paper backgrounds to match the pictures. Use bright-colored paper in the same shapes as the pictures, but slightly larger. Avoid black because you will use this later.

3. Glue the pictures onto the backgrounds, and the backgrounds onto two pieces of black construction paper. These two pieces of paper will be the front and back of your binder.

4. 

   Decorate your front and back covers. You can personalize them with funny notes on the pictures or draw interesting doodles around the edges. Use the gel pens to write on the black construction paper.

5. Slip the black construction paper into the front and back sleeves of the binder. The clear plastic will hold the paper in place.
