How to Get the Life Armor in "Breath of Fire 2"
The Super Nintendo role-playing game Breath of Fire 2 utilizes several different mini-games that have to be beaten to find the most powerful equipment available in the game. The Life Armor, which is the best defensive item that the party can acquire, can be found by fishing with the expensive gold bait at a specific river location.

Go to a store that sells fishing equipment and purchase the deluxe fishing rod and a bar of gold. Equip the deluxe rod on the main character as an accessory.

Travel to the city called Gate and go to the fishing spot at the nearby waterline.

Cast your line out far enough that the bait will float by the treasure chest at the bottom of the water.

Press the action button on your controller repeatedly to drag the bait quickly back towards you; it should hook the treasure chest. Reel it in quickly so you don't break your line. Once you have pulled out the chest, you will receive the Life Armor.

Tips & Warnings
Fishing spots don't always appear right away. If you don't see it when you first reach the city Gate, fight in some random battles and it will appear soon.
The treasure chest can only be caught using the gold bar as bait. If you use any other type of bait, the chest will not get stuck on your line.
