Step 1
Click "File" and select "New." In the "New Image" dialogue box, type "300 pixels" for both width and height. Check the "Raster Background" checkbox. Select "16 Million Colors (24 bit)" from the field marked "Color depth." Click the "Transparent" checkbox. Click "OK."

Click "View" and select "Grid." Then select "Change Grid, Guide and Snap Properties" from the View menu. Under "Current Image Settings" type "100 pixels" in both the field for the horizontal and vertical grids. Click "OK."

Draw or copy and paste different image into each grid square. If you're drawing your own picture, use tools such as the "Pen Tool," the "Preset Shape Tool" and the "Flood Fill Tool" to make the drawing quicker and easier. Click "View" and select "Palettes" then "Layers" to see which layers you have created and to manipulate them. When you're finished editing, save your image with a new file name which you can easily remember.

Click "File" and select "Export" and "Picture Tube" if your image is a raster image with only one layer. If your image has multiple layers or is in vector format, continue to Step 5.

Repeat Step 1 to create a new image which is 300 pixels square. Then repeat Step 2 to re-size the grid.

Click the "Selection Tool." Drag the cursor across one of your nine images to draw a box around it. Right-click on the blue bar above the image and select "Copy Merged."

Right-click on the blue bar above the new image which you created in Step 5. Select "Paste" and "Paste as New Selection" to place it in one of the grid squares. Copy all the rest of the pictures merged and paste them into the subsequent squares. Save your file.

Click "File" and select "Export" and "Picture Tube." Then create a new image. Select the "Picture Tube" tool from the toolbar. Select your picture tube from the drop-down box in the "Options Palette." Either drag your cursor across the image or click repeatedly to apply the picture tube to the file.
