How to Make Brown Sugar-Cinnamon Butter for Sweet Potatoes

I love that restaurants serve baked sweet potatoes more now with flavored butter on them. You can easily duplicate that at home. This recipe for brown sugar-cinnamon butter makes the baked potato taste just like in a restaurant. Here's how to do it.

Things You'll Need

  • brown sugar (light or dark)
  • margarine or butter
  • cinnamon
  • Assemble the ingredients (brown sugar, margarine or butter, cinnamon).

  • Use this proportion: 2/3 margarine to 1/3 brown sugar.

  • Use a spoon to mix the margarine (or slightly softened butter) with the brown sugar in a small bowl or ramekin.

  • Add a dash of cinnamon (see the picture above). This is very much a taste thing, so you'll know better how much you like after the first time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Let the butter soften at room temperature. Don't use the microwave or you'll have liquid butter.
  • Just make what you need for one meal. It doesn't store well in the refrigerator.
