How to Play the Thanksgiving Thankerchief Game
This extremely easy Thanksgiving game is a great way to help your family stay focused on the real point of the holiday: giving thanks. This is a game to play while you are waiting on the turkey to finish roasting or in between the dinner and the dessert courses.

1
Have everyone sit in a circle. You can use a family room, game room, or den for this game. If you want, you can even play it at the dinner table if everyone is sitting in the same area.
-
2
Pass the hankerchief from player to player. As the hankerchief ,known now as the "Thankerchief", is passed around, the entire family should recite this rhyme: "Thankerchief, thankerchief, 'round you go. Where you will stop, I do not know. Wherever you land someone must say what they are thankful for today."

-
3
Stop passing the thankerchief when the rhyme stops. You can say it quickly or slowly to make the game more interesting.
-
4
Have the person holding the thankerchief say one thing that they are thankful for. It can be silly, like ice cream, or serious, like family and friends safe at home. You can use this as an opportunity to talk with your children about what they are thankful for and how they might help others who are not as fortunate as your family. You can play this game as long as you like until your family is ready for dessert or everyone has had a turn.
