Monkeys are some of the easiest creatures to draw. Their distinct features make them highly recognizable even without their bodies. They can be easily depicted by simply drawing a monkey face.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pen or other drawing instrument
  1. Step 1

Start with his nose and mouth. Draw a simple circle with a horizontal line through it. Add two dots above the line for his nostrils.

  2. Step 2

Hook up his eyes. Draw two circles directly above his nose and mouth to serve as the monkey’s eyes. Fill in with two dots for pupils.

  3. Step 3

Add his ears. Draw two semi-circles on either side of the monkey’s eyes so he has something to hear with.

  4. Step 4

Include any other facial details. You can add eyelids that are half closed, eyelashes, earrings, scars, beauty marks or whatever else suits your fancy. Hair is also a good add, although technically it is not on his face, unless you want him to have a mustache or beard.

Tips & Warnings
  • Since monkey faces are so simple to draw, they are good to use to express a variety of emotions. Play around with the facial features and shapes to create monkeys that are terrified, hysterical, bored or angry.
  • Don’t draw a monkey face on the mirror in lipstick. It will offend whomever happens to use the mirror next and probably ruin the lipstick.
