How to Battle Foot Odor
Feet have to put up with a lot every day. From supporting all our weight to walking and running to being trapped in shoes, it's easy to see why so many suffer from natural foot odor. Foot odor is a truly annoying ailment that may seem impossible to combat, but there are a few things you can do to battle stinky feet. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Pumice stone
- Antibacterial soap
- Heavy, Vaseline-based moisturizer
- Foot powder
- Shoe inserts

Morning

Wash your feet thoroughly in the shower with antibacterial soap. Get between your toes and underneath your toenails. Rinse each foot completely.

After your feet clean and softened from the soap, use a pumice stone to gently slough off all the dead skin on the bottom of each foot. Concentrate on the heel, heel back and ball of the foot, where the deal skin is more likely to collect dirt.

Dry your feet thoroughly with a clean towel. It's important to keep your feet dry and clean until you get your shoes on, so you way want to have a clean pair of slippers or socks to slip on after your shower.

Wear shoes that are made out of natural materials and are ventilated. In each shoe, insert an insole, available in most major pharmacies and convenience stores. Squeeze a few puffs of foot powder into your socks. Shake your socks gently in the air to disburse the powder evenly and then slip each sock on. If you are not wearing socks, simply squeeze the powder directly into your hand and rub it on the soles of your feet.

Evening

Take off your shoes and spray a mist of deodorizing spray into them to cut any odors from the day. Avoid wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row.

Remove your socks, taking care not to spill any leftover foot powder that may be in them. Immediately place them in the laundry basket. Do not wear the same pair of socks two days in a row.

Wash you feet with antibacterial soap, especially between the toes. You can do this by sticking your feet in your bathtub basin under running water, or even in your bathroom sink, if you don't plan to take a full shower.

Before you go to bed, apply a thick moisturizer, preferable Vaseline based. Put on a clean pair of socks before getting into bed to go to sleep for the night.

Tips & Warnings
Even if you only follow a few of these steps everyday, it will make a huge difference in foot odor.
Wash your sneakers and other washable shoes as much as possible.
Always wear clean socks.
