Instructions

Watch the clip. Watch a 1 to 2 minute film clip, but pay extra close attention because you never know what kind of questions are going to be asked. Sometimes you'll be asked easy questions like naming the movie the clip was from, or naming the actor you saw in the clip. The ones you want to look out for are the obscure questions like how many times did a certain actor say a certain word in the clip, or a question about something that's going on in the background.

Identify invisibles. For these puzzles you'll be asked to identify a movie based on a picture. The catch is that either an actor, prop or other kind of identifying object has been removed from the frame. A good strategy for these puzzles is to study the picture as a whole rather than concentrating on the removed element.

    • 3

Unscramble the anagrams. In these puzzles you'll be shown a series of phrases alongside a list of several movie titles. The phrases on the left are anagrams of one of the movie titles on the right. The first person to buzz in with the correct answer is awarded the points, so think fast. A good strategy for these puzzles is to go with your gut. Often your first impulse turns out to be right.

Name that movie poster. These puzzles start out with an empty movie poster on the left and a list of possible movies to the right. One by one elements are added to the blank poster and you have to guess which movie the poster is for before the timer runs out and the poster is completed. A good strategy for these puzzles is to give the poster a few seconds to develop before answering.

Let the credits roll. These puzzles show a series of random credits from a movie and it's your job to figure out what the movie is. Sometimes you'll get lucky and see a big name actor in a role you recognize, but in most of these puzzles you'll be asked to identify the movie from credits for "producer," "best boy" or "key grip." The first person to buzz in with the correct answer is awarded the points.

Tips & Warnings

  • In the rounds where you lose points for every incorrect answer you don't have to make a selection if you don't want. So if you have no idea what the answer is, and you don't want to guess and risk losing the points, you can simply wait for the timer to run out. No points will be subtracted from your score for choosing not to answer.

  • Be sure to keep extra AA batteries on hand. Nothing kills the fun more than going to play and finding out that the batteries in the controllers are either dead or not there.
