Create a restore point. This can be done by cliking Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

You can also export all default registry values by opening the command windows (Start > Run > type regedit). Go to File and Click Export. Save the registry files on the folder you want.

Backup the registry key you have to change. To do this,
click the registry key you want to change and click the File > Export. Choose the location where you want to store your backup key. -
