This article gives tips on how to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A wrist rest
  1. Step 1

Carpel tunnel syndrome is wrist pain caused by repetitive movements when using a computer or doing other tasks that involve the hands and wrists.

  2. Step 2

To prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, sit two feet away from your computer. The top of the computer document should be at eye level.
Your keyboard should be flat or elevated and not slant away from you.

  3. Step 3

Keep your wrists straight and elbows at a 90 degree angle while typing.
    Always use a wrist rest.

  4. Step 4

Stretch and rotate your wrists before and after work and during breaks, at least once per hour.

Consult a doctor if you experience wrist pain. A wrist support can help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, also.
