Things You'll Need:
- schedule
- desire to cheer your player
- soccer ball
- soccer gear
-
Step 1
First, identify the soccer player's schedule. Identify when and where practices and games are being held, who is driving to and from, etc. Write down schedule and keep in a convenient location as an easy reference to the soccer schedule.
-
Step 2
Next, always ensure you have all necessary soccer gear, this includes: soccer uniform, soccer ball, soccer shoes, shin guards, gloves (for goalie), and water. Also, have chairs or blankets to be able to sit and watch. Make sure everything is ready the night before the soccer game or practice.
-
Step 3
Pack emergency bag. This should have umbrella, hats, gloves, jackets, blankets, Kleenex, bottle water, and non perishable snacks. Soccer season is in spring and fall, thus weather can fluctuate quickly.
-
Step 4
At game or practice, cheer on your soccer player. They have a soccer coach. You are to be their greatest fan. Do not yell on how they should play (again they have a soccer coach who may be telling them different). Instead, shout statements like, "great job" or "good kick" to continue to motivate your soccer player.
-
Step 5
Know the other children on the soccer team by name. Cheer these soccer players on too. It helps the kids feel good and make them want to do well. Other parents will follow your example, and soon all the parents will be cheering the whole soccer team.

on 8/26/2009 I have been a team parent for years, from soccer to cheerleading to wrestling and I would like to show you something that might help your team with organizing team snacks, volunteers, fundraising events and parties.
www.signupgenius.com/backtoschool
It's a FREE program that can help organize a snack list, volunteers and events. I think it would be perfect for any volunteer coordinators, team moms, and teachers as well as class moms organize fundraising events.
I am the team mom for my daughter's soccer team and I used it for our 4th of July parade signups and it worked so well, getting more volunteers than we have ever had. It really makes it so much easier than calling and emailing parents individually. I'm going to start using it for all of our events like car washes and parties and stuff.
