Expecting vegetarians for thanksgiving dinner? Great! Including vegetarian dishes in your Thanksgiving meal is easy. Here are some great ideas for no-meat eaters.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    GENERAL VEGETARIAN COOKING

The most difficult obstacle in preparing Thanksgiving Dinner for vegetarians is to offer a true meal, rather than a collection of meatless side dishes. Your vegetarian main dish should be full of flavor, substance and protein. This easiest way to do this is to select your favorite recipe that does not rely on meat for flavoring. A dish that draws its delicious flavors and aromas from spices and sauces is ideal. Or, if you have a great and flavorful side dish that does not call for meat, think of creative ways to add vegetarian protein sources like tofu, soy burger, meatless sausage, beans or lentils.

  2. Step 2

    VEGETARIAN STUFFED PEPPERS

Stuffed Peppers are a great main dish for vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner. Simply follow your favorite stuffed pepper recipe. Wherever meat is called for, substitute vegetarian or vegan sausage, beans, or tofu. Select bright, colorful peppers for a dazzling dish.

  3. Step 3

    VEGETARIAN CASSEROLE

Vegetarian casserole is super easy to make and can be served to your entire Thanksgiving dinner party. Select your favorite casserole recipe and substitute soy burger or meatless sausage where meat is called for. If serving as a main dish, be sure to make enough vegetarian casserole to serve also as a side dish.

on 9/2/2008 Great article! I don't know anyone who is a vegetarian but this is great advice for anyone who might want to incorporate some vegan dishes into their diets. I thought about it but also had the idea was guilty of thinking the diet consisted of nothing but side dishes or soup. Thanks for the article!
