Have A Safe Halloween

Keeping your children safe on Halloween is your top priority. Here are some tips on how to keep safe on Halloween.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Help your kids pick out a safe costume. Be sure to get a costume that has big enough eye holes so your child has good peripheral vision. Another good idea is to get a costume that will allow your child to be seen by cars and other people. You can also have your child wear shoes with reflectors or have your child carry a flashlight or a glow stick.

  2. Step 2

Eat a fairly big dinner before you go out trick-or-treating. This will help with keeping children out of the candy before you have a chance to check it. Be sure to check the candy when you get home for any candy that has been tampered with. Immediately throw out candy if you are uncertain about it.

  3. Step 3

Instruct your child to never go into the home of a stranger or get into their car no matter what the offer is or what they ask.

Tips & Warnings
  • Small children should never be allowed to go out alone on Halloween. Make sure a teenage sibling or adult is with them.
  • Stop only at familiar houses in your own neighborhood unless they are accompanied by an adult.
  • Stay in well lighted areas.
