Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Choose FUN activities and vary your routine to keep it interesting. (Bike riding, walking, aerobics, dancing, weight or resistance training, treadmill, elliptical, stepper)

  2. Step 2

    Exercise with a friend (surround yourself with supportive people).

  3. Step 3

    Use music (ipod or MP3 player), TV, or reading to distract yourself if needed - this makes the time go by much quicker.

  4. Step 4

    Pace yourself - don't overdo it. Start off slowly and gradually increase the amount of time you are exercising.

  5. Step 5

    Set goals for yourself - and remember to reward yourself as you meet these goals. (But not with high calorie treats)

  6. Step 6

    In order to lose one pound per week you need to either eat 500 less calories every day or increase your activity to burn off 500 extra calories every day.

  • You should STOP Exercising if you experience:
  • any tightness, pressure, burning or heaviness in your chest, neck,
  • shoulders, back, or arm
  • unusual shortness of breath
  • dizziness/lightheadedness
  • pulse is much faster than expected
  • increased joint/muscle pain
