Guitar Hero III

If you ever tried to play Guitar Hero III on PC, you must know how hard it is to play using the keyboard, well.... here's an easy way to do so.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Keyboard
  • Guitar Hero III Game
  • Really Fast Fingers
  • Strong Nerves
  1. Step 1

    Start the game and go to Options>Controller>Configure Keyboard

  2. Step 2

    Configure the keyboard as follows:
    Green Fret / Confirm -> N
    Red Fret / Cancel -> M
    Yellow Fret -> Comma
    Blue Fret -> Period
    Orange Fret -> /
    Star Power -> Space
    Whammy -> L Alt
    Strum Up / Menu Up -> A
    Strum Down / Menu Down -> Z

    Confirm the changes and start the game

  3. Step 3

    Now, while playing, hold the keyboard like you're holding a real guitar, the back of your guitar should be against your belly, your left-hand fingers (Ring Finger, Middle Finger, Index Finger) should be placed on the (N key, M key and Comma key) respectively, the baby finger should be free to press the space bar when needed.

    Use your Right-Hand Index finger to press the A button, use only the A, no need to use the Z because it wount work when trying to play 2 strings at a time, it has something to do with the inside wiring of the keyboard, but I'll skip the technical reason, just use the A, it works perfectly.

    Finally, use your Right-Hand Ring finger to press the Left-Alt key for Whammy.

    When playing in Medium or Hard modes, you may need to shift your Left-Hand finger placement on the keys.

    Enjoy Rocking !oq!

Tips & Warnings
