How to Make a New Orleans Hand Grenade Cocktail

If you'd like to recreate a night of carousing on Bourbon Street, throw a Mardi Gras party or just enjoy some New Orleans-style fun at home, you can make a hand grenade cocktail yourself with ingredients found at any liquor store. So grab some Mardi Gras beads, put on some party music and let the good times roll, or "laissez les bons temps rouler," as they say in the French Quarter.

Things You'll Need

• 1.5 oz rum
• 1.5 oz gin
• 1.5 oz vodka
• 1.5 oz melon liqueur
• 1.5 oz everclear
• sugar to taste
• ice
• highball glass
• shaker

Instructions

1. Fill shaker with ice. Pour in rum, gin, vodka, melon liqueur and everclear. Add sugar to taste.

2. Shake the mixture until thoroughly combined.

3. Fill highball glass with ice.

4. Strain cocktail mixture into the highball glass. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

• This drink is also great with 1.5 oz of pineapple juice. Add the juice to the shaker with the alcohol and ice, but omit the sugar.

• Drink responsibly. Do not operate any kind of vehicle after consuming a hand grenade cocktail.
