Things You'll Need:
- Computer, internet connection
- Around $100 and a Credit or Check Card
-
Step 1
There are quite a few reputable snowmobile parts dealers online. Most snowmobile parts sites sell OEM windshields. This means they are made to factory specifications even if they aren't manufactured by the company that made your sled.
-
Step 2
Like any parts purchase, more money spent on a windshield typically means better quality. Cheap plastics are likely to crack in the cold.
-
Step 3
Buy a windshield the same height as your current windshield.
-
Step 4
Stock windshields on many trail sleds tend to be much higher than a cheap OEM replacement. If you live in a cold climate, ride a trail sled, and like the protection a high windshield offers against the cold, don't buy a short racing windshield.
Racing windshields offer little protection against the cold, but are less likely to break if you aggressively ride your sled. -
Step 5
If a website looks sketchy or has out-of-stock issues, find a more reputable parts dealer.
