Step 1
Place two to three bales of hay in a back corner of your front yard. This will be the base to your front yard fall decoration. You can lay out the bales of hay in a couple of different formations. You can stack them to make a tall display. The bales of hay can be put in a pyramid formation. This is the most solid fall front yard decoration that you can do. The bales of hay can be lined up so that they are low to the ground. Whichever decorating set up that you choose, you will have a great starting point for your front yard fall decoration.

Step 2
Place dried cornstalks behind your bales of hay. Secure the corn stalks to your front yard fall decoration with wire. This will keep the corn stalks from falling over. Corn stalks can be found at most home and garden stores during the fall of the year. You will have to pick them up early in the year; they do sell out quickly.

Step 3
Place a scarecrow on top of the bales of hay to bring life to your front yard fall decoration. You can either make a scarecrow or buy one for your display. Either way, a scarecrow is the focal point of your front yard fall decoration.

Step 4
Finish off your front yard fall decoration with some pumpkins and gourds. Do not carve the pumpkins or gourds for your fall decorations. Use these items whole so they will last through the fall season. You will want to keep an eye on this part of your display. If you see any of your pumpkins starting to spoil remove them from the display. Another reason to watch is that kids like to take pumpkins and smash them this time of year.

Step 5
Once the leaves have started coming down you can leave some scattered around your front yard fall decorations. This will add even more fall flair to your front yard.
