Rice noodles are used extensively in Asian cuisine and can be easily found at Asian markets or even your neighborhood grocery store. Rice noodles are most commonly sold dried. Many times, the cooking instructions on the package of noodles is printed in a foreign language. Read below on how to prepare dried rice noodles for use in your favorite recipes. Instructions

      Put the rice noodles in a large bowl.

      Bring some water to a boil on the stove - you will need enough water to cover the noodles.

      Pour boiling water over the noodles to cover. Gently stir the noodles.

      Allow the noodles to sit in the hot water, stirring occasionally, until they are done. They should be cooked through but not mushy. Depending on the thickness of the noodles, this could take from 3-8 minutes.

      Drain the rice noodles in a colander. If you do not plan to use the noodles right away, keep them in a bowl of cold water and drain when you need them.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the rice noodles stick together after cooking, rinse or submerge them in cold water.
