This is so easy, you can do it while you sleep! Follow these instructions and your family will come back for more delicious barbequed pork, beef, or chicken.Use a crock pot for tender, juicy meat.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • boneless pork roast OR
  • boneless chicken breasts and/or thighs OR
  • boneless beef roast
  • crock pot
  • 1-2 bottles of your favorite barbeque sauce
  1. Step 1

Put the chicken, beef, or pork in the crock pot - I usually start with a frozen piece of meat, but fresh will work as well. Make sure it is boneless and if you are using chicken, remove the skin.

  2. Step 2

Turn the crock pot to high -- do not add any liquid at this point. If frozen, cook for 3-4 hours, if fresh, check it at two hours to see if it is ready.

  3. Step 3

When the meat is cooked through, take it out and shred it in a large bowl with two forks - just pull it apart. The longer it has cooked, the easier this is to do.

  4. Step 4

Put the shredded meat back in the crock pot, turn it to low and add the barbeque sauce. Let it simmer for an hour or so. If you prefer, you can add the barbeque sauce before you shred the meat, but if you have the crock pot on high with the sauce in it, you need to stir it often to prevent burning.

  5. Step 5

Serve it on buns, or just on the plate. Take it to picnics, pot luck dinners, or just for an evening meal at home. This is to-die-for barbeque that you can enjoy year round!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can mix the meats if you wish - I have done it with both pork and chicken and it is just as delicious.
  • Substitute applesauce for the barbeque sauce (only with the pork) and you will have a really good pulled pork and applesauce dish.
  • Make sure when you are simmering the barbeque to stir it often and don't cook it on high - it could burn.
