How to Mosquito Control , Controlling Mosquitoes Around Your Home

Totally eliminating Mosquitoes around your home is almost impossible. BUT you can take some steps to controlling them & reduce the numbers of SKEETERS you have to deal with

Instructions

1. 

   HABITAT REMOVAL
   Get them where they live & breed , STANDING WATER
   
   Eliminate standing water anywhere you can on your property.
   Rain Gutters, Buckets, tires, toys , water catch tray for large potted plants , hollow trees or tree stumps or anything that will hold water , that is where mosquitoes can breed.

2. 

   BIRDBATHS & FOUNTAINS
   Empty & change the water in anything that you want to have water in all the time like fountains - bird baths -wading pools - rain barrels, at least once a week to destroy habitats mosquitoes live & breed in.

3. 

   SWIMMING POOLS
   Keep the water in your swimming pool circulating & treated with chlorine to proper levels at all times.
   
   This will keep SKEETERS from breeding in you pool.
   
   If you have a swimming pool that is unused & has gone green or is half full , Do your best to drain all the water. If you can't drain it , get some swimming pool chlorine ( Liquid & pour it into the standing green water.
   If you can DRAIN IT , or in extreme cases where the pool is damaged & it will never be able to be use it again. Fill it in with dirt. Bust up the concrete around the pool & down the sides some & fill it with dirt.
   
   You will get your yard back & get rid of the SKEETER problem

4. PONDS & FOUNTAINS with FISH
   
   This is a bit of a hard area to keep SKEETER under control. You trying to keep your fish alive & you can't ad chemicals to the water because it will kill your fish.
   
   In this area I would used Mosquito Fish.
   They are small fish that eat Mosquito larva
   Most areas have a VECTOR or Mosquito control program. Most of them will give you FREE Mosquito fish to put into your fountain or pond

5. 

   YOU JUST CAN'T CONTROL THE MOSQUITOES ON YOUR OWN
   Call the county Mosquito / VECTOR control & ask for help. Most counties will help you eliminate the problem. If your friendly & request the help there is most of the time no charge for this help.
   
   They will tell you even more way to control the pests on your property.
   They are the paid experts , as long as they arte there , ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS. I gather all the info you can

6. PROBLEM WITH NEIGHBOS PROPERTY or GREEN POOL
   The best thing to do is to talk to your neighbor & explain the problem . Most folks hate SKEETERS as much as you do & are happy to take the steps to control the problem.
   
   If they will not take care of the problem , Call & Report the problem to the county Mosquito control program. Most of the time you can remain anonymous & the county will not tell your neighbor who reported them. The county will come out & inform them that they have to comply & the county will even help them with the problem.
