You'll need paper towels to make bacon in the microwave.

Crispy hot bacon smells so good, but it can take a long time to fry bacon and all the oil is not exactly healthy. Making bacon in the microwave means the bacon won't soak in so much oil, and it can be ready in under 10 minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Paper towels
  • Paper plate or microwave safe plate

Instructions

      Put a paper towel on a paper plate. Place 5 to 7 pieces of bacon flat down side by side on the paper towel. Place another paper towel over the bacon.

      Cook the bacon for 2 minutes. Use pot holders or an oven mitt to pull the plate out. Check the bacon to see if it is burning. If the bacon is fine, cook it for another 90 seconds and check again.

      Decrease the cook time to 1 minute if the bacon is still not finished. Do not cook the bacon for more than 6 minutes total or it will burn.

      Take the bacon out of the microwave. Blot the excess oil off with the paper towel. Pick the bacon off the paper towel and place it on a clean plate. Throw away the dirty plate and greasy paper towels and start a new bacon plate.

Tips & Warnings

  • Look at the bacon after every minute in order to cook the bacon to your desired crispiness

  • Use another paper towel to blot of oil in between minutes

  • Be careful the bacon gets hot
