How to Find Water Parks in Washington
Water parks are a popular summer family vacation destination, allowing everyone the enjoyment of their inner kid. Much of Washington is rainy during the fall and winter months. When summer begins to heat up, everyone is ready to get out and be active. All of these water parks fulfill the need for a cool swim, a fast slide and a splash or two.

Slide down to Birch Bay Waterslides. This park is located in the northeastern part of the state, near Lynden. Within the 4 acres, you will find four large water slides: a 60-foot hydro drop speed slide, a wide ramp, a tube slide and a tame river slide. They offer three kiddie slides for the little ones. Other features include a giant hot tub, a basketball court and a beach volley ball court. There are lockers provided for your personal items and plenty of concession stands to take a break for lunch.

Visit Splash Down Family Water Park in Spokane. It’s not the biggest water park in Washington, but it offers some very appealing attractions. Splash Down built the first “bowl” slide in Washington. Zoom around the bowl and splash into the cool water below. Fastball is the newest slide, allowing you to compete for speed against another person. There’s even a radar gun you can check to see who won the race. Also featured are four 400-foot-long body slides.

Check out Slidewaters, overlooking Lake Chelan in eastern Washington. The basic slides include two intermediate and two for the little folk. In addition, Slidewaters offers four slides with an abundance of twists and turns. For the really adventuresome, there is the Thunder Rapids slide, where groups of four people can ride together. It features waterfalls and simulated rapids. The newest feature is a 400-foot slide called the Tube Blaster. Other features include a 60-person spa, kiddie aqua zoo, volleyball, arcade, swimming and concessions.

Scoot over to the Greatwolf Lodge Bear Track Landing to see one of the largest indoor water parks in America. This water park includes a four-story tree-house water fort, six water slides and three pools. The signature slide is called Howlin’ Tornado. Four riders, in a tube, slide down six stories into a giant funnel. Admission is included in your lodging cost, allowing you to have fun all day without spending a lot of extra cash.

Tips & Warnings
Some of the water parks don’t allow your own food or food coolers in the park. Check the location regulations before packing that big picnic lunch.
Most of the water parks are quite large. Decide on a designated meeting spot where everyone can meet at a certain time.
