If you are a busy adult feeling as if you are in a dead-end job or if you just need a change, career training might be a good option for you. There are many online career training courses available. You can receive diplomas and certifications in various career areas. Paying for these courses can often create a challenge because many programs are not eligible for financial aid. Follow these guidelines to find funding for career training courses.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take advantage of the DANTES program. Are you currently serving in the military? The DANTES program is available to many active duty service men and women who wish to receive career training. If you have selected a career training program, contact the school to determine if they offer DANTES financial reimbursement.

  2. Step 2

Do you have access to GI educational benefits? If you have GI benefits, check with the career training school to determine whether or not they accept GI benefits.

  3. Step 3

Talk to your current employer about the career training courses of your interest. Many employers will offer some level of tuition reimbursement for employees who are training in areas that will benefit the company. The human resources department of your organization will be able to provide you with details for the use of any available tuition reimbursement programs.

  4. Step 4

Take advantage of special tuition payment plans offered by many career training schools. Most online career training programs offer interest free tuition payment options. These payment plans allow you to make a small down payment on your tuition. You will then need to pay affordable monthly payments. If you finish your training program before your payment plan ends, you will need to balance in full or continue making monthly payments until your balance is paid. At that point, you will receive your diploma.

  5. Step 5

Understand that education is always a worthwhile investment. Many career training programs that could advance your career and increase your earning potential are less than $1200. If you have some money saved, it might be worthwhile to take out a small amount to cover tuition costs. This is an investment in the future. Upon receiving a raise or finding better employment using your new career training course, you can replace the money you spent for tuition.
