How to Build a Squeeze Page

You have been squeezed if you have ever landed on a page that gave you umpteen reasons why you need to buy its product. A squeeze page is a sales page that speaks to the urgency of you needing to make a purchase. It is also meant to gather names and emails, because on the Internet, a business is only as good as its email list.

    Things You'll Need

    • HTML coding program
      • 1

Write a great headline. You have to give them a reason to read the page--something like "Millions Could Be Yours for Free!"

      • 2

Give them benefits, not features. How is this product going to help them? The features are good, but people buy for the benefits.

      • 3

Call them to action. Tell viewers what you want them to do. Do you want them to call, email, subscribe or what? Make it something people can do instantly; a phone call may put them off. You want them to take action now.

      • 4

Put an email form on the page. A simple form asks for email and a first name. Asking for too much information may cause people not to respond. Put the form above the fold--that means in the top part of the page, so they don't have to look for it.

      • 5

Stress the importance of inputting the correct email address, or your information may land in a spoof email account.

      • 6

Tell them your privacy policy. If you are going to sell people's names, then you are required to tell them. A simple statement may be something like, "Your email is private and will not be sold to a third party."

Use a template as a guide to put it all together, and upload the page to your website.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Some people use a specific domain name for a squeeze page. Something like "http://www.hotmoneytips.com." This gives you a second way to get traffic to that site.
