Instructions

Things You'll Need:

Playstation 3
Bluetooth headset

Step 1

Turn on your Playstation 3 and the television to which it is connected.
Step 2

Make sure that your Bluetooth headset is turned on and is functioning properly.
Step 3

Wait for the main Playstation 3 menu to load.
Step 4

Scroll over to the "Settings" tab.
Step 5

Scroll down and select the "Accessory Settings" option.
Step 6

Scroll down and select the "Manage Bluetooth Devices" option.
Step 7

Wait for the screen to pop up that reads, "The Bluetooth device has not been registered. Do you want to register it?" Select the "Yes" option.
Step 8

Select the "Start Scanning" option.
Step 9

Wait for the Playstation 3 to finish scanning and to register your Bluetooth headset.
Step 10

Use your newly registered Bluetooth headset along with your Playstation 3 to chat with other players, use team play in online games, and otherwise access the full potential of your Playstation 3 gaming console.

Tips & Warnings

Remember, your Bluetooth headset will need to have a decent sound quality if you want it function well during online game play.
Don't connect a Bluetooth headset for use online if you're a minor without the permission of your parents. There is no screening process for lewd or offensive language and most players will encounter a lot of both from players that they don't know.

on 8/19/2009 How long does it take for the ps3 to scan for the bluetooth. I tried these steps and all it does is say that its scanning and thats it. I let it do that for like 20 min and nothing.
