A Wiffle ball is so light that throwing and pitching one is challenging. However, if proper technique is used, you can have nearly complete control over your pitches--especially a curveball.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Grip the ball with the holes facing outward. For a right-handed pitcher, face holes to the right; for a left-handed pitcher, holes to the left.

  2. Step 2

Put your middle finger to the left (right-handers) or to the right (left-handers) of the holes on the ball. It should be placed along the seam that runs around the ball.

  3. Step 3

Pretend you are making a "peace sign" with your index finger; approximately 2 inches should be between the index and middle fingers.

  4. Step 4

Your thumb will be on the underside of the ball, also along the seem, while your pinky and ring fingers should rest together along the side of the ball in the middle of the holes.

  5. Step 5

Like the straight fastball, the curveball with a Wiffle ball should be thrown with a loose grip. A tighter grip will not produce the same amount of spin and amount of break.

Tips & Warnings
  • Plenty of practice should be expected to throw this pitch well. When it's thrown correctly, you can expect a break of several feet.
