  1. How to Tie a Haywire Twist

      Run the wire through swivel or hook eyelet. Double back 8 to 10 inches of wire. Form the size loop desired and make 4 to 5 twists. Pinching down on the wire with your thumb and forefinger will help with making the twists. Refer to the illustration.

      Grab the tag end of the wire and now make 6 to 8 tight twists. Each twist should fit snugly next to the previous twist. Refer to the illustration.

      Grab the tag end of the wire and bend it back and forth till the wire breaks. Refer to the illustration.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not cut the tag end in Step 3 with pliers. Doing so will leave a razor sharp edge that could cut you.

  • Always wear safety glasses when working with wire.
