Step 1
Connect your iPod. If your stereo has been purchased recently, it is likely to have an iPod docking station. Examine the main part of the stereo system; usually this area is clearly marked and will resemble a headphone plug-in hole. Connect your iPod to the stereo by plugging it into this hole.
-
Step 2
Make sure the sound settings on your stereo system are set appropriately. Some stereos require the user to alter the setting, just like you would switch the system from “CD” to “radio”, while others automatically recognize your iPod once it has been connected and turned on.
-
Step 3
Purchase an iPod adapter if your stereo is outdated, or simply does not have the iPod docking station feature. iPod adapters can be found and purchased easily at your local electronics outlet. Write down your stereo’s make and model type and be sure to bring your iPod and iPod accessories with you when you go.
-
Step 4
Ask for assistance. The knowledgeable staff will be able help you easily once you explain that you would like to connect your iPod to your stereo and present them with the iPod and stereo information.
