How to Draw a Monkey Swinging

A cute swinging cartoon monkey is an easy drawing project for beginners. They typically have round heads, a round mussel, and a simple tail. It only takes these few simple shapes and a few extra minutes of your time to draw a monkey that swings. When drawing monkeys, it is important to remember that they have a sense of mischievous humor. Instructions

1. 

   Draw an oval with the bottom part missing for the head. Draw a smaller oval where the first one was left open. Draw two 'C' shapes on each side of the larger circle for ears.

2. 

   Draw an 'm' shape for eyebrows with two black dots below them for eyes. Erase a little of the black to make highlights in the eyes. Draw two slanted lines for nostrils and a curve for a mouth. Draw question mark shapes in the ears.

3. 

   Draw two lines coming from the head. The one on the right ends in a hand made of two 'm' shapes facing each other. Draw a curved line coming from the hand to indicate the vine. The other hand is simply three tube shapes, side-by-side, with a forth tube out to the side for a thumb. Draw an 'm' shape for the monkey's knees.

4. 

   Finish the 'm' shape by drawing three lines coming down. Make two big circles for big toes on the middle line. Make four progressively smaller circles beside them. Draw lines slanting inwards to indicate feet. Draw the tail as a curvy line coming from behind the monkey. Finish the picture by adding motion lines to show that the monkey is swinging.
