Step 1
Register for the exam as soon as you meet the requirements. You must have a graduate level degree (Master's or Doctorate) from a CEPH accredited school, and you must have graduated during or after the eligibility date for the school. This can be no later than July 31, 2009. See Resources for a link to the table listing schools and dates.

Step 2
Get approved by the National Board of Public Health Examiners. Before taking the exam, you must be approved by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (see Resources). They will issue you a scheduling permit that approves you to sit for the exam.

Step 3
Register through Prometric (see Resources) a testing site that has over 300 testing locations nationwide. Go to the site and choose a testing site near your home. Click the state on the drop down menu and a list of statewide sites will appear. Click the site most convenient for you.

Step 4
Read all the instructions for registering if you have special needs and what to bring to the site prior to the exam time. You must have your Scheduling Permit and an unexpired government-issued form of identification such as a driver's license or a passport. You will be advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to testing time.

Fill out the eligibility information. You will be asked to choose a time and date. After some personal information is entered, the appointment is reviewed and completed.
