The Natural Bridge is a bridge that is taller than Niagara Falls and is structurally sound enough to support U.S. Highway 11, even though the bridge was created in nature with no human involvement. Drive through Virginia Safari Park (see Resources). Children of all ages will enjoy this drive-through zoo. You can buy buckets of animal food when you enter the park and then feed the animals as you drive through the zoo. You can see a wide variety of wild animals up close, from zebras to bison.

Visit the local schools. Lexington, VA is home to both the Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University. Both campuses have historical significance, and the campuses are beautiful, with historical buildings built onto rolling hills.
