If you are looking for a unique decoration for your Thanksgiving table, look no further. A pumpkin vase with flowers is the perfect solution. It is festive and puts Halloween's left over pumpkins to good use. Your guest will love it. You can place a pumpkin sticker under one of the chairs and then whichever family member or guest sits in that chair gets to take the pumpkin vase home as a little prize.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small pumpkin
  • Flowers
  • Water
  • Knife
  • Pumpkin scooper or your hand
  1. Step 1

Buy a small pumpkin, but one that is tall enough to hold a set of flowers.

  2. Step 2

Use a knife to cut a circle around the top, cutting out the stem. You can throw the top of the pumpkin away because you won't need to replace it with this project.

  3. Step 3

Use a pumpkin scooper or use your hands to remove the pumpkins insides and all of the seeds.

  4. Step 4

Set your pumpkin out to dry. When the inside feels dry you can continue. This may take a day or two.

  5. Step 5

Pick or buy a bouquet of flowers. Add some babies breath. Place them in the pumpkin. If they stand too tall you may need to trim the stems a bit.

  6. Step 6

Add some water and a packet of plant food so that the flowers last longer.

  7. Step 7

Place on the table for Thanksgiving dinner.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can choose to use fake flowers for the centerpiece, but it isn't as beautiful.
  • Young children should not be cutting the pumpkin top off. It is too dangerous.
