Places to Go on St. Marks Place

Make your first stop Trash and Vaudeville in the East Village (4 St. Marks Place, New York City, NY 10003, noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, 11:30 am to 9 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday). Trash is in the basement, and it's where you will find your Gothic attire. This place has been around forever, so think of it as a visit to one of the landmarks in Goth history.

Go to Religious Sex (7 St. Marks Place, New York City, NY 10003). It's not the place if you're on a tight budget, but it has great designers and outfits.

Visit Khazana (18 W. 8th St., New York City, NY 10011) for great bargains. Not everything here is Goth, and not all Goth stuff is always on sale, but you can still get terrific deals here.

Shop at Enz (48 W. 8th St., New York City, NY 10011) for a real Goth-boutique feel. They also have a huge wig selection.

Go to Funhouse (61 W. 8th St., New York City, NY 10012) for a huge selection of pretty much everything your Goth heart desires. It's worth a visit just to see what the employees (who have no dress code to follow) are wearing.
